The History of KFC
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is an American fast-food chain that specializes in fried chicken. It is the world’s second largest restaurant chain after McDonald’s, with over 24,000 outlets in more than 145 countries and territories (Source? About (kfc.com)). The chain was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders (1890–1980) who started selling fried chicken from his roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky during the Great Depression.
The first “Kentucky Fried Chicken” franchise opened 1952, in Salt Lake City Utah. From there, KFC spread rapidly across the United States and further afield – as far as China and Japan. Today, you can get KFC almost anywhere in the world! The menu today has expanded to include a host of finger licking items such as the famous Bucket Meal Deals, Chicken Burgers & Wraps, Rice Boxes & Meals or Family Boxes – there truly is something for everyone!
